I am hoping this goes through. We've been in shanghai for 4 days and have been very busy. we met Evan on Monday and he was shy with me but gave Dan a big hug and has preferred him for the most part. he gets car sick so when we left for hotel he screamed for the whole trip (45min) and cried for about an hour feeling scared and confused I'm sure. he ate a little and cried a little more. then he saw the bathtub and got in and was very happy, played for 1 hour. since then he has shown mostly happiness and has been very verbal and animated. We had our adoption ceremony? yesterday. Really it was only fill out more paperwork, take a picture and then we received our adoption certificate and his passport. He has gotten car sick each time we've gone somewhere with the guide, but has not complained or cried when he sees the car. All of our emotions are up and down. We've been skyping with kids and he was initially excited to see them, but today would not look or talk. I think he was feeling sad, maybe remembering kids in SWI. We went to the aquarium today because it has been raining every day but last sunday. We have one more day (thurs) then we fly to Guangzhou on Fri. We have enjoyed the hotel (lexington plaza) and the shanghai area but are wishing for a dry day. I don't think my pictures came through last time but will try to attach just one here.
