We arrived in shanghai last night @2:00am EST. Didn't sleep much on the plane so could hardly stay awake for dinner. Had to stay up till 8:45 so we could skype with kids and so happy we got to see them after 1 1/2 days with
out. The plane ride wasn't too bad and very cool to fly over the Arctic ocean. Today we had free for ourselves so we walked and walked and walked. Went to people's park, the bund and Yu Yan gardens with Old Shanghai. There are so many people and such a different lifesyle. The laundry hangs everywhere and people cook everything out in the streets. Sarah will be happy to know that they do have dogs for pets:) I had to use a squat toilet and thankful for my kleenex pack in my purse. I also showed interest in a skirt and was rushed into a broom closet to try on. haha Most people at the hotel speak english but out today we were really lost as to what to say although I did know a few phrases to say. Many people wanted to sell us watches and it got tiresome telling them no. We had a nice buffet at the hotel for breakfast and McDonalds for lunch. tomorrow is Gotcha day and we are excited/terrified! I am attaching some pictures which I hope will show up.
